Biotechnology and biomedical engineering combines biology and applied tools of engineering and focuses on the applications of living organisms, their products, and bio-processes for both the wellbeing of humans and the manufacturing of valuable products to develop and maintain sustainable societies on earth. Biotechnology and Biomedical engineering research in CBE can be categorized into different areas: production of environment-friendly industrial bioproducts, biosensors, drug delivery methods, and therapeutics of diseases. Furthermore, it is still expanding its boundary by fusion with nanotechnology and electro/information technology.
